Information Solution Architect

Position Summary:
As the Information Solution Architect, your primary responsibility is to offer technical guidance to development teams and oversee the technical aspects of data solution delivery. This role is crucial in ensuring alignment with the Group IT strategy and adhering to defined architecture patterns and principles.

You will lead the development of overall solution designs and manage the architecture of data and analytics solutions, empowering the organization to leverage data insights across various Lines of Business (LOBs). Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, data governance specialists, data analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders, is essential. Your role involves understanding their requirements and delivering effective data-driven solutions while upholding data integrity, accessibility, and security throughout the data lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
Develop data and analytics architecture aligned with business objectives.
Design solutions meeting Functional and Non-Functional requirements, adhering to Architecture principles and Technology standards, and aligning with data and analytics strategy.
Propose data models, optimize storage, and enhance data flow pipelines.
Provide guidance to data engineers.
Validate technical effort estimations and review technical specification documentation.
Supervise and oversee technical aspects of projects.
Participate in RFI/RFP processes, evaluating technical capabilities and commercial viability of vendors/solutions for recommendation.
Own the design and create necessary documentation for submission to the Solution Design Approval Forum.
Lead in ensuring Non-Functional requirements are captured and implemented optimally.
Advise on supplier and cost options, ensuring validity of overall solution representation in RFI/RFPs or proof-of-concept solutions.
Collaborate with data analysts and visualization experts to present data insights effectively through dashboards and reports.

Essential Skills for Success:
Profound understanding of data modeling, data marketplace, data virtualization, and data visualization.
Proven track record in data management, data engineering, or related roles.
Expertise in database design, SQL, T-SQL, Azure Data Cloud, and Azure Technology Stacks.
Hands-on experience with Cloud Architecture, particularly in Microsoft Azure covering IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS applications.
Familiarity with SAP space is advantageous.
Proficiency in ETL tools and data integration techniques.
Knowledge of multiple integration patterns, including SOA and APIs.
Understanding of data governance and data security best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects concurrently.
Recognized for collaborative decision-making, conflict resolution, and follow-through with exceptional verbal and written communication.
Analytical and creative problem-solving skills, utilizing design thinking.
Confident presenter with the ability to simplify complex subjects for diverse audiences, including senior executives, IT management, and developers.
Leadership and teamwork experience, particularly in agile environments like SCRUM and Kanban, for delivering new products and services.
Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture Frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman, including the development of architecture principles and standards.
Industry-recognized Data & Analytics certification.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
Over 10 years of experience in data projects or data engineering roles.
Prior experience in a similar role with full autonomy.
