Job Responsibilities:
Review architectural plans and generate quantity requirements and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for steel doors and ironmongery.
Price and forecast the costs of materials essential for steel doors and ironmongery, ensuring compliance with Fire and Building Standards.
Estimate and price steel doors according to Civil Defense Requirements, locating them accurately on floor plans.
Recommend suitable ironmongery for steel or wooden doors based on their location.
Prepare door and ironmongery schedules, including Masker Keying System I, derived from architectural floor plans and project specifications.
Provide accurate cost estimates for fire door projects based on specifications and drawings.
Analyze project requirements, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
Collaborate with engineers to ensure precise and timely estimates.
Create detailed BOQs and cost breakdowns for materials, labour, and equipment.
Offer technical support and guidance to project teams regarding fire door specifications and installation.
Attend project meetings, effectively communicating with stakeholders to address concerns or issues.
Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to fire door installations.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share knowledge with team members.
Desired Candidate Profile:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in estimating fire door projects.
Previous work experience in construction, preferably focusing on fire protection systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic environment.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
