Job Description:
We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Officer to oversee safety inspections, training, and reporting procedures within our organization. Your responsibilities will include maintaining reports such as near misses, accident investigations, and assessments, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and fostering a safe work environment. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of our environmental health and safety programs, participating in audits and inspections to monitor compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct safety inspections and provide safety training.
Maintain reports on near misses, accident investigations, and assessments.
Enforce safety standards among employees.
Create and maintain a safe working environment.
Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental health and safety programs.
Participate in EHS site audits, inspections, and routine surveys.
Develop audit documentation and track corrective actions.
Monitor trends resulting from audit activities.
Desired Candidate Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field.
NEBOSH Certified.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a safety inspector in a relevant industry.
Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards.
Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Ability to work independently and make decisions.
Effective prioritization and multitasking skills.
Physical fitness and ability to work in various environments.
