Job Overview
The Greenkeeper is responsible for maintaining and preparing ground and playing surfaces to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:
Ground and Lawn Maintenance:

Replanting, repairing, aerating, fertilizing, and topdressing lawns.
Preparing various playing surfaces, including tees, fairways, roughs, and greens.
Undertaking common methods of repair and renovation.
Preparing ground and establishing plants.
Equipment and Tool Handling:

Using and maintaining non-powered tools and equipment safely and correctly.
Preparing and operating tractors, mowers, rollers, and other machinery.
Performing a range of mowing tasks, scarifying, Vert cutting turf, and aerating turf.
Applying top dressing and fertilizers.
Repair and Maintenance:

Repairing divots and identifying and controlling weeds, pests, turf diseases, and disorders.
Ensuring all assigned equipment and tools are fueled, cleaned, and well-maintained.
Ensuring mow lines are straight, mowed areas are clean, and making big and wide turns to control traffic.
Keeping the wash-bay clean and tidy.
Safety and Reporting:

Monitoring and maintaining health, safety, and security in the workplace.
Reporting any damage, misconduct, or unprofessional behavior by colleagues to a supervisor.
Seeking to advance and progress by increasing understanding of operational tasks.
Having a comprehensive understanding of all maintenance operations.
Qualifications and Skills
Knowledge of preparing and maintaining playing surfaces.
Ability to use and maintain non-powered tools and equipment safely.
Proficiency in operating tractors, mowers, rollers, and other machinery.
Skills in mowing, scarifying, Vert cutting, aerating, and applying top dressing and fertilizers.
Ability to identify and control weeds, pests, turf diseases, and disorders.
Commitment to maintaining health, safety, and security in the workplace.
Strong communication and reporting skills.
Proactive approach to learning and improving operational tasks.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience, and Knowledge
Educational Requirement:

High School Certificate or equivalent.
Experience:

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar field.
At least two (2) years of experience working as a greenkeeper on a golf course or sports grounds.
Knowledge and Skills:

Basic knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
Basic proficiency in English (Level 3) with the ability to read and write.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Strong team player with a positive attitude.
