• Role Purpose
• The purpose of this role is to perform non-interpretative processing of clinical samples and support the pathology team in meeting targets while assisting with the department’s daily operations.
• The post holder will rotate between administrative and clinical functions.
• Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team and promptly highlight any urgent results according to procedural guidelines.
• Prepare and process clinical specimens for biomedical testing, ensuring accurate maintenance of clinical records.
• Utilize various IT systems for effective management of clinical records.
• Manage inquiries efficiently, escalating issues to the team leader when necessary.
• Take responsibility for the disposal of clinical and sensitive samples, including chemical waste and sharps bins.
• Ensure adherence to all technical standards, policies, and procedures, promptly addressing any concerns.
• Maintain professional standards and quality control procedures to promote safe and efficient practices.
• Work alongside the pathology and laboratory teams to implement techniques based on evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines.
