The Design Manager will lead the interior design of private properties, working closely with the family to understand their preferences and create luxury designs that align with their vision. The role involves collaborating with international consultants, managing the entire design process from concept to construction documentation, and assisting with material and FF&E selections. The Design Manager will independently develop interior design concepts for smaller-scale projects, create presentation strategies, and provide creative direction.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Management:
- Evaluate interior design briefs, identify specific requirements, and establish qualification and evaluation criteria.
- Review and assess candidate consultants, conduct interviews, compare presentations, and recommend designers for selection.
- Define client requirements, style, and preferences through discussions and mood boards to finalize the design brief.
- Outline the design scope and deliverables for interior design, FF&E, art, and accessories.
Project Oversight: - Manage design consultants to ensure high-quality deliverables that meet client approval.
- Oversee projects from layouts to detailed drawings and FF&E specifications, ensuring standards and requirements are unified into cohesive designs.
- Monitor project progress to ensure designs are delivered within budget and on schedule, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
Market Awareness and Trends: - Stay updated on the latest trends, materials, and techniques in interior design.
- Assess market trends and integrate innovative concepts into design projects.
Quality Control and Feedback: - Review and provide feedback on design management procedures to ensure relevance, usability, and clarity.
- Ensure all designs align with luxury standards and exceed client expectations.
Required Skills for Success: - 10+ years of extensive experience in interior design, mainly for hospitality and luxury properties.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget while maintaining design excellence.
- Strong expertise in design standards, codes, and practices, with a deep understanding of the end-to-end design and delivery process.
Qualifications - A degree in Interior Design or a related discipline is mandatory.
