Position Overview: Data Network Engineer

The Data Network Engineer will be pivotal in supporting AFET’s AMC customers and providing on-site technical services.

This role focuses on Data Networks, Infrastructure, Wi-Fi, and Security Solutions. The ideal candidate will be trained and certified in Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, Cisco, Fortinet, HP, or similar solutions. As a key technical support team member, the engineer must possess excellent hands-on expertise and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Support & Implementation:

• Deliver post-sales technical support by SLAs.
• Implement Data Network and ICT solutions with customers, principals, service providers, and business partners to ensure alignment with design specifications.
• Configure and install routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers (Aruba & Cisco).

1. System Monitoring & Maintenance:

• Oversee enterprise-level network hardware and applications at customer premises.
• Perform diagnostics and monitor Data Network Infrastructure Solutions to ensure system reliability and availability.
• Conduct network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, and security configurations.

1. Incident Management:

• Respond to and resolve system issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Manage repair and replacement of failed equipment.
• Prioritize workloads to optimize productivity and customer satisfaction.

1. Service Delivery & Change Management:

• Handle service requests and perform preventive maintenance and health checks.
• Execute change management activities and ensure timely project completion within scope, cost, and quality.
• Provide training to customers on system usage.

1. Customer Support:

• Maintain 24×7 support readiness to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:

• Certification and experience in Cisco, Aruba, and Alcatel-Lucent Data Networks (Switching & Wireless).
• Advanced knowledge of network equipment, including routers, switches, wireless controllers, DNS, DHCP, and WAN accelerators.
• In-depth understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IGMP, IPSEC, VRRP, HSRP, STP, OSPF, QoS, 802.11).
• Strong familiarity with the OSI and TCP/IP models.
• Proven experience in the full solution lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, testing, documentation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Proficiency with network diagnostics and analytics tools.
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and resolving network issues.

Certifications:

• Valid CCIE Certification is mandatory.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics, Telecom, IT, or Computer Science) or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years in Data Networking, including routing/switching, infrastructure, Wi-Fi, security, and firewall solutions.
• Experience in monitoring and providing on-site support for customer networks.
