We seek an experienced Heavy-Duty Driver to join our Airside Operations team at Emirates Flight Catering, based at Dubai International Airport. The role is essential to ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of catering items to designated locations, supporting the Airside Loading team (ALT), and operating high-loader equipment for aircraft load/offload operations. This position requires adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), airline specifications, and strict safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of catering items to the airport, strictly following SOPs and airline requirements.
- I assist the Airside Loading team with loading and unloading catering items, ensuring flight requirements are met before departure.
- Operate and position high-loader equipment safely and efficiently, following SOPs for load and offload activities.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure vehicles are properly pre-cooled, and cargo belts are secured to prevent damage to catering items.
- Adhere to all safety and traffic regulations, following U.A.E. road rules and Dubai International Airport ramp safety guidelines.
- Comply with all health and safety policies and vehicle regulations, and report any vehicle damage or defects to maintain a safe work environment.
Job Context:
Emirates Flight Catering, one of the busiest in-flight catering providers in the Middle East, operates 24/7 from Dubai International Airport. The Airside Operations Department coordinates transport, loading, and operational control to meet flight provisioning requirements. The primary challenge for this role is ensuring that all catering deliveries are completed on time while maintaining compliance with food safety, health, and safety standards and airport safety regulations.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
- High School Certificate or equivalent.
Work Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in a logistics/transport environment, preferably as a truck driver or in a similar role.
Skills:
- Proficient in written and spoken English with strong attention to detail.
- Basic vehicle inspection and maintenance (e.g., tyre pressure, oil, water levels).
- Familiarity with first aid, safety protocols, and basic firefighting (preferred).
- Possessing a valid U.A.E. Heavy Truck Driver’s License (#4) is preferred.
- Ability to safely operate loaded vehicles and perform manual handling tasks (bending, kneeling, stooping, ladder use).
- Able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be physically fit and willing to work in shift rotations.
- Capable of obtaining a Restricted Area Security Pass.
