Job Responsibilities:

  • Support Student Development: Assist a diverse range of students in improving their social skills, motor skills (both gross and fine), subject knowledge according to curriculum expectations, and independent learning capabilities.
  • Classroom Environment: Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging student-centred classroom, promoting a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Monitor Progress: Use relevant data to track student progress, set appropriate targets, and plan differentiated lessons, in collaboration with a qualified teacher.
  • Learning Resources: Prepare and organize learning materials and resources to support lesson delivery.
  • Parental Communication: Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians regarding student achievements and well-being.
  • Behaviour Management: Promote good behaviour and maintain order in the classroom and school environments, following the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Intervention Support: Respond to students’ learning needs by providing targeted interventions to help overcome barriers to learning.
  • Assist Teacher: Support the teacher with daily classroom routines, including organizing homework, diaries, and reading books.
  • Classroom Maintenance: Ensure the classroom meets safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Professional Development: Observe and receive feedback from experienced teachers to enhance personal teaching practices and professional development.
  • Contribute to School Life: Engage in broader professional responsibilities, building positive relationships with colleagues and contributing to the school’s ethos. Seek advice and support as needed.
  • Training and Mentorship: Participate in ongoing training programs and mentoring to develop teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Contribute to the assessment of student progress, especially in the Arabic language, using both formative and summative assessments to ensure continuous progress.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement appropriate behaviour management techniques, foster engagement and motivation, exercise authority when necessary, and maintain positive student relationships.
  • Technology Integration: Utilize technology effectively in lesson delivery and student assignments to enhance learning and student engagement.
  • Extra-Curricular Contribution: Participate in school events and activities outside the classroom, such as after-school clubs, coaching, and lunch clubs.
  • Mentorship Meetings: Meet regularly with mentors or line managers to assess progress in the iPGCE program and identify areas requiring additional support.
