Role Overview:
The role focuses on the design, development, and maintenance of life-support systems and other medical devices to enhance patient care. The position ensures that all medical equipment complies with institutional, national, and manufacturer standards. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, equipment calibration, staff training, and documentation management.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Advisory: Act as a consultant to management, recommending the latest clinical equipment and technologies.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper functioning of medical devices in operating rooms, ICUs, clinical labs, and therapeutic and diagnostic clinics in accordance with relevant standards.
  • Preventive Care: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of medical equipment efficiently and safely.
  • Training and Support: Provide training to physicians, nurses, and technical staff on equipment use, including hands-on technical support during surgeries and procedures.
  • Device Design Collaboration: Partner with engineers and researchers to design and fabricate specialized devices for clinical and research applications.
  • Vendor Coordination: Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and RFPs (Request for Proposals), and negotiate with vendors for clinical equipment procurement.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain detailed records of equipment repairs, calibration, modifications, and replacement parts.
    Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferably with an MS in Biomedical, Electrical, or Electronics).
    Experience:
  • 5–7 years of experience in a similar role.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in programming electronic devices.
  • Skilled in building and evaluating prototypes to ensure functionality.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and redesigning to resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information for research and development of innovative instruments, equipment, and systems.
  • Precision-oriented with strong measurement and analytical abilities.
    Multidisciplinary Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with clinical procedures and medication protocols.
  • Proficient in customer relations, ensuring effective communication and service delivery.
  • Understanding of overall pharmacy operations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare and pharmaceutical regulations.
  • In-depth understanding of medical equipment brands, specifications, and standards.
