The Category Manager plays a key role in collaborating with buyers and supporting procurement activities for Majid Al Futtaim Retail. This position focuses on product selection, ensuring items align with organizational objectives and are well-represented in stores, catalogues, and online platforms.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to maintain optimal stock levels and meet organizational goals.
- Research and recommend new suppliers that provide cost savings or quality enhancements.
- Source high-quality products at competitive prices while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Create and execute negotiation strategies to secure profitable contracts and agreements.
- Identify and establish partnerships with reliable and profitable suppliers.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with current and potential suppliers.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with supply contracts.
- Expand the supplier network through trade show participation and market trend analysis.
- Monitor and control procurement costs while promoting a culture of long-term savings.
Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration.
- 5–7 years of experience in category management, with a focus on fresh food.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in decision-making and numerical analysis.
