The Collection Administrator aids the Center Administrator in verifying and maintaining the integrity, completeness, and efficiency of collections from tenants and customers. This role also guarantees compliance with relevant taxes and regulations in all collection transactions, while ensuring accuracy, correctness, and completeness of information recorded in the accounting system.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities of the Role:
Maintain effective and clear communication channels with tenants or CRM regarding financial matters, responding to inquiries or requirements efficiently.
Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders, particularly clients and governmental bodies.
Collaborate with the legal department concerning collection issues, including legal notices, and furnish accurate support and information as needed.
Generate weekly updates on collections and any associated delays, delivering them to decision-makers in a timely manner.
Facilitate prompt and well-coordinated assistance to leasing, asset management, and CRM teams regarding collection matters in alignment with business needs.
Address inquiries from business units and management, providing debtor statements promptly upon request.
Ensure the validation and recording of daily collections and associated accounting transactions meet the following criteria:
Verify the presence of supporting documents to substantiate transactions.
Confirm that proper authorizations have been obtained for each transaction.
Validate the accuracy and completeness of information entered into the system.
Ensure the correct and appropriate accounting treatment is applied to each transaction.
Confirm the proper selection of General Ledger (GL) accounts and Billing Codes for recording transactions.
Support the monthly closing process by following a predefined checklist.
Timely recording of tenant and client receipts, as well as bounced cheques.
Prepare reconciliations for tenants’ accounts and diligently follow up on unresolved issues until resolution.
Provide assistance in ad-hoc analysis, financial reporting, and other relevant tasks within assigned areas of responsibility.
Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), local regulations, and applicable financial policies and procedures.
Adhere to relevant tax laws and regulations pertaining to the assigned section.
Proficiency in IFRS/IAS and familiarity with local regulations pertaining to accounts receivable and revenue, with a focus on the Real Estate sector.
Intermediate-level skills in computer applications, particularly MS Excel, and adeptness in utilizing business solutions software.
Advantageous experience in utilizing enterprise resource planning systems such as Oracle, SAP, Yardi, and/or JDE.

Minimum Experience:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in A/R Accounting.
Minimum Qualifications/education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
