Role Overview: Data Analytics Lead

As the Data Analytics Lead within the Data and Analytics team, your key responsibility will be to drive and deliver BI and analytics solutions that create substantial value for Al Futtaim Business. With a focus on advancing Analytics maturity across all business lines, you will collaborate closely with senior Business and IT stakeholders to ensure that Data and AI initiatives align with Al Futtaim’s broader strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transform Business Processes: Leverage a deep understanding of Analytics processes to help businesses translate their needs into actionable analytical requirements.
• Lead Large-Scale Projects: Work closely with the project/program manager to oversee large transformation initiatives. Represent the data team in senior management review meetings and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Design and Implement BI Solutions: Lead the design, planning, and development of Business Intelligence and Big Data/Lakehouse applications across multiple complex projects, ensuring they align with existing architecture strategies.
• Guide Agile Teams: As a senior team member, you will guide internal and external teams to meet business expectations and deliver on time in an agile environment.

Required Skills & Expertise:

• Experience: Proven experience in Data Analytics engineering and delivery, with a strong technical background in Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, and Data Visualization using tools such as Power BI, Databricks, Alteryx, Tableau, and SAP BI.
• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Python, PySpark, and SQL programming languages.
• Lakehouse Architecture: In-depth knowledge of Lakehouse architecture and experience in governance and security controls.
• Database Management: Strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases, with hands-on experience managing, designing, and optimizing databases for analytics.
• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to handle unstructured datasets and extract meaningful insights from complex data structures.

About the Team:

• You will be reporting directly to the Data and Analytics Director.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
• Certifications: SAP and Azure certifications are highly regarded and considered a significant advantage.
• Experience: At least 15+ years of experience in Data Analytics and Business Intelligence, with a minimum of 12+ years in roles directly related to analytics and cloud solutions. At least 5+ years of experience delivering data analytics capabilities on the Azure platform.
• Industry Knowledge: Proven experience delivering analytics across multiple business lines, including Retail, Automotive, Healthcare, Corporate, and Finance. A deep understanding of industry-specific challenges and opportunities is essential.
