Al Futtaim Private Company LLC

Established in the 1930s as a trading business, Al-Futtaim Group today is one of the most diversified and progressive, privately held regional businesses headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates

My role involves shaping the company’s data strategy and architecture in alignment with the guidance provided by the GM Operational Performance. I facilitate collaboration among data teams, ensuring they work towards common goals, processes, and pipelines. I design and implement the data model and pipelines specifically tailored for automotive operations, collaborating closely with the IT department.

Additionally, I identify and advocate for new solutions and architectural enhancements to improve our data capabilities, presenting compelling business cases to support these initiatives. I also drive the advancement of our artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) initiatives by providing clear recommendations and demonstrating the value and benefits of these activities.

I am responsible for establishing a robust data architecture, focusing on the Azure platform in collaboration with our IT department. This includes managing upgrades to our SAP data architecture and BIW operations, particularly for financial and operational data.

Furthermore, I lead efforts to enhance metadata and database schemas to align with an overarching data model and quality framework. I am streamlining the existing data structure to ensure a smooth transition to the Azure platform.

Capturing business requirements is integral to our delivery program for future data architecture builds and decision-making. I advocate for new solutions and architecture enhancements supported by compelling business cases.

Regular database health and capabilities assessments are conducted to drive improvements in our data pipelines. Updates and directions regarding data architecture, including architectural mapping, are communicated to the business as needed.

In collaboration with IT, I enforce the highest data quality and control standards, establishing guidelines where necessary. Security measures for operational data are rigorously enforced, and operating procedures for data flow and control are created and managed from ingest to destruction/removal.

I oversee and manage all data processes for the operations function, ensuring alignment with IT and adherence to common standards and practices.
