Role Overview: Design Manager (Interior)

The Design Manager oversees the interior design of private luxury properties, working closely with the family to understand their preferences and create designs that align with their vision. This role involves managing the entire design process, from concept development to construction documentation, while collaborating with international consultants to ensure the design meets the highest luxury standards. The Design Manager is also responsible for assisting with material and FF&E selections, providing input on final styling, and ensuring the project’s overall success. For smaller projects, the Design Manager will develop in-house concepts, create design presentations, and offer creative guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and Define Design Requirements: Review and analyze the interior design brief to understand client needs and preferences. Create mood boards and confirm briefs based on client discussions.
  • Consultant Selection and Management: Define qualification criteria, evaluate and recommend design consultants, and assess consultant presentations to ensure alignment with the client’s vision.
  • Design Execution: Manage the interior design process, including layouts, detailed drawings, and FF&E specifications. Ensure all standards and requirements are integrated into a cohesive design.
  • Trend and Material Expertise: Stay updated on design trends, materials, techniques, and industry developments to bring innovative solutions to the projects.
  • Budget and Timeline Management: Ensure design projects are completed within the agreed budget and timeline, informing stakeholders of progress and addressing potential discrepancies.
  • Feedback and Procedure Evaluation: Review and provide feedback on design management procedures, ensuring their relevance and clarity throughout the project.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience: 10+ years of comprehensive experience in interior design, specializing in luxury hospitality and private assets, with a proven track record working with top developers or consultants.
  • Expertise: In-depth knowledge of design standards, codes, and best practices. Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget, with a strong understanding of the design and delivery process.

Qualifications:

  • Degree: A degree in Interior Design or a related discipline is required.
