The Director – Human Capital is responsible is responsible for partnering with functional leaders to drive HC related activities such as organizational development, talent acquisition, talent management and development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, employment law, compliance, disciplinary and grievance issues, etc. The role holder is also responsible for collaborating with the functional leaders to develop their strategy, organizational structures, HC policies, teams, and advise on improvements and any optimization solutions inclusive of cost savings and cross-department synergies. The role holder is also expected to coach/guide people leaders and be a Culture Champion.
Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Collaborate with various stakeholders to have a better understanding of staffing needs across the business unit/function
Advise the Global Solutions team on sourcing strategies for various open vacancies, oversee the candidate experience with a data-driven approach, and ensure all pre-hiring requirements are fulfilled
Work closely with Function Heads and Hiring Managers for all Talent Acquisition related processes and ensure the requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner, following the HC/TA policies and procedures aligning with Total Rewards guidelines
Conduct interviews with senior candidates using various assessment techniques and advice on the shortlist of candidates that match the job requirements Support on coordinating and scheduling interviews between business stakeholders and candidates for Executive level hires
Review and sign offer letters prepared by the GS TA team
Advice and develop on forecasting hiring needs and staff costs within the assigned business unit with the respective functional leaders
HC Strategy and Initiatives
Develop and implement HC Strategies for the assigned business units/ District in line with overall business strategy and business direction, with a focus on attracting, retaining and developing talent
Maintain close links between local business units/District and support function management and staff with the appropriate central Human Capital function to ensure consistency of the application and implementation of corporate Human Capital programs, policies and procedures
Work with various HC Functions drive and deliver key HC initiatives such as performance management and talent reviews, succession planning, talent development, total rewards, employee relations and employee experience
Contribute to the implementation of all relevant HC projects-initiated by HC CoE functions and provide input based on business unit/ District requirements Advise and assist the business units/District management and staff for all matters relating to Human Capital processes to ensure strict compliance
Oversee Human Capital activities related to (e.g. certificates, staff attendance and absences, passports, medical insurance, vacations, cheques) and ensure correct documentation
Provide the appropriate documents to the concerned party upon request
Attend to grievances of MAF Retail’s employees in all Operating Business Unites
Conduct site visits to branches to ensure staff attendance and compliance to company’s dress code and company P&P
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations
Advice on the onboarding process wherever necessary, and conduct induction sessions for senior new joiners Reporting
Review daily, weekly & monthly HC reports from department heads and action to be taken accordingly
Provide a variety of Human Capital reports upon request by relevant stakeholders & Head Office
Organization Design:
Talent Management and Development
Ensure implementation of the talent management processes and frameworks containing best practice elements
Ensure implementation of controls to help Identify employees with high potential for growth, and support their development
Ensure regular reviews are conducted on progress of individuals and leaders’ and development plans and targets to ensure efficient and effective talent development
Coach and build the capability of senior managers to contribute to organization effectiveness
Collaborate with functional leaders on organization design and planning initiatives such as developing organizational structures, operating models, and manpower planning
Support in reviewing and approving role profiles to fit role requirements and guidelines
Work closely with the Total Rewards team to conduct accurate job evaluations
Deliver training for various HC initiatives in order to ensure business stakeholders are fully aware and empowered for the journey ahead
In support with Talent Management, engage on the succession planning exercise, including identification of critical roles and potential successors in collaboration with the senior management
Ensure effective development plans are in place for successors and conduct progress reviews on the same
Collaborate with the Talent Management and Development team to identify training needs for the assigned business unit
Deliver educational workshops to business stakeholders across the different functions
Policies and Procedures:
Provide expert advice and guidance to line managers and team members in areas including but not limited to HC policies and procedures, grievance, performance management and performance reviews and remuneration
Advise and recommend updates policies and procedures; and ensure that all relevant stakeholders follow and implement the same
Human Capital Responsibilities:
Oversee the develop and implementation of on the job-training
Ensure constant availability of the required competent staff to support the organization in meeting all its responsibilities, plans, and objectives
Provide inputs while developing MAF Retail’s corporate policies and relevant procedures, and monitor the implementation
Ensure the implementation of the performance management process
Provide mentorship for the purpose of developing a continuous talent pipeline for key roles
Identify training needs and coordinate with the HC department to ensure facilitation of training requirements
