To develop and deliver training to new and existing Heavy Duty drivers by using a combination of classroom, driving simulation and practical driving classes in order to familiarize them with the approved airside driving standards and guidelines. In addition, measure the impact of the trainings delivered and the driver*s ability to apply the knowledge in their respective role.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with Line managers to develop post-training action plans to evaluate and measure the effectiveness of training/learning in terms of content, delivery, as well as implementation, all with emphasis on performance metrics including behavioral change and business results.
Administer road test to evaluate the driver’s ability to effectively and safely operate the vehicle in situations they will encounter on the job and ensure they are fit to perform the role on day of Operations.
Analyse the training compliance data, generate reports and advise on the process gaps identified and recommend solutions to resolve them and enable the performance of the drivers.
Design, develop and deliver driving training courses, to meet business needs in coordination with line managers and the L&D team; regularly update the content and methodologies of the training courses to suit changes in business requirements in ASO.
Evaluate theory examinations and monitor practical sessions in order to provide support to the trainees during post training assessments to ensure compliance to the safe driving standards.
Collaborate with the Operations and Fleet managers to review any vehicle accidents, ensure root cause analysis is carried out and arrange re-training of employees when needed.
Comply with all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to align as per standards and regulations.
Education Qualification:
Should have a valid U.A.E. driving license (# 3M & 4) Heavy Truck and should have passed the company-driving test
High School Certificate Qualification or equivalent qualification (must have)
Skills required
Preferred experience as trainer in an airline catering environment
Should be well versed in written and spoken English with accuracy and attention to detail.
Proficient in the use of a PC and MS Office Suite.
Possess valid license for the type(s) of vehicles used in the training.
Should have knowledge of basic vehicle knowledge
Trained in First Aid, Safety/ basic firefighting (preferred).
Hard working attitude with initiative to work alone or in a team environment.
Minimum experience of 3 years in a Logistics/Transport environment as a Truck Driver or a similar role.
Experience in operating Light and heavy duty vehicles
Formal certification as a driver trainer and/or assessor.
Airside Vehicle Operator Permit at a major airport
