Job Purpose
The role is responsible for maintaining all equipment and ensuring the seamless operation of the catering facility. It includes supervising and effectively monitoring junior engineers while managing all engineering department functions. The jobholder will ensure the continuous functionality of the Engineering department within EKFC by executing tasks related to specialist systems, facilities management, general maintenance, and fire safety.

Core Knowledge Areas

  • Project design, approvals, execution, and commissioning.
  • Automation and programmable logic controller (PLC) systems.
  • Electrical and electronic engineering principles.
    Key Responsibilities

Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to safety legislation and safe working practices.
  • Maintain operational safety for employees, equipment, and assets at all times.
    Quality Assurance:
  • Comply with ISO 9001:2001 standards and company policies.
  • Guarantee consistent quality standards for all employees.
    Breakdown Response:
  • Ensure prompt action to resolve breakdowns.
  • Diagnose and analyze faults effectively.
    Troubleshooting:
  • Resolve complex machine breakdowns when junior staff cannot identify issues.
    Preventative Maintenance:
  • Monitor and manage preventive maintenance programs to avoid equipment failures.
    Resource Facilitation:
  • Ensure availability of tools, equipment, and spare parts required for tasks.
    Repair Oversight:
  • Oversee cost-effective and timely repairs in line with departmental guidelines.
    Staff Supervision:
  • Lead and supervise junior engineering and technical staff.
    Communication:
  • Actively participate in departmental briefings to facilitate communication.
    Qualifications and Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation, or Industrial Engineering from a recognized institution.
    Experience:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in catering, facilities, or project management.
    Proficiency in engineering legislation, with a strong background in quality standards and safety practices.
    Skills:
  • Ability to remain calm during emergencies.
  • Strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of working under pressure.
  • Expertise in diagnosing and resolving maintenance issues.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in prioritizing tasks and delegating work.
  • Skilled in record-keeping and report preparation.
