The position involves performing service and maintenance operations on various makes and models of cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs), including tasks like oil changes, tire services (replacement, balancing, puncture repair), brake replacements, basic diagnostics, and air conditioning re-gas. The role is pivotal in enhancing both the company’s revenue and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Job Execution:
- Perform repairs and maintenance on all passenger cars and LCVs.
- Complete and maintain check sheets and vehicle write-ups on repair orders.
- Identify and report additional repairs needed after conducting an Enhanced Vehicle Health Check (EVHC).
- Provide repair and service estimates to customers.
Technology and Diagnostics:
Utilize various technologies for basic diagnostic checks and electronic inspections.
Tools, Equipment, and Workspace Management:
- Maintain tools and equipment in line with company standards within your service vehicle.
- Properly handle special tools and ensure cleanliness in your work area.
- Use specialized service tools, including Intelligent Testers and Scan Tools.
- Manage parts inventory in your vehicle and handle returns of unused parts.
Health and Safety Compliance: - Adhere to health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Manage hazardous substances, such as oil and brake fluid, in compliance with environmental standards.
Quality Assurance: - Aim for “Fix it Right the First Time” to ensure zero repeat repairs.
- Conduct thorough diagnoses and troubleshooting.
- Perform final inspections and quality tests on vehicles.
Productivity and Efficiency: - Meet productivity and efficiency targets.
- Effectively manage time to ensure all scheduled work for the day is completed punctually.
- Required Skills for Success:
- Qualifications: Trade Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in independent servicing, repairs, and component replacement.
- Diagnostic Skills: Basic ability to identify mechanical and electronic faults.
Experience: - Industry Background: Minimum of 5 years in a multi-brand automotive service center within the automotive industry.
- Driving License: A clean UAE driving license is preferred.
- Knowledge and Understanding:
- Core Systems: In-depth knowledge of all essential vehicle systems.
- Customer Communication: Ability to explain complex faults to customers clearly.
- Team Dynamics:
- Reporting Structure: This role reports to the Service Supervisor and operates in a busy workshop environment.
- Collaboration: You’ll be crucial in identifying and resolving basic diagnostic issues in line with dealer and manufacturer standards.
Language Skills: - Communication: Strong English communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential;
- proficiency in Arabic or other languages is a plus.
