- Role Purpose
- The purpose of this role is to perform non-interpretative processing of clinical samples and support the pathology team in meeting targets while assisting with the department’s daily operations.
- The post holder will rotate between administrative and clinical functions.
- Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team and promptly highlight any urgent results according to procedural guidelines.
- Prepare and process clinical specimens for biomedical testing, ensuring accurate maintenance of clinical records.
- Utilize various IT systems for effective management of clinical records.
- Manage inquiries efficiently, escalating issues to the team leader when necessary.
- Take responsibility for the disposal of clinical and sensitive samples, including chemical waste and sharps bins.
- Ensure adherence to all technical standards, policies, and procedures, promptly addressing any concerns.
- Maintain professional standards and quality control procedures to promote safe and efficient practices.
- Work alongside the pathology and laboratory teams to implement techniques based on evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines.
