Role Overview
This role’s primary responsibility is coordinating all design information from consultants and specialist contractors, assisting in the preparation of workshop drawings, and supervising and developing junior coordinators.

Responsibilities
Design Coordination
Gather and integrate information from architectural, structural, and MEP consultant drawings, design calculations, RFI responses, EI, and sub-contractors recommendations into the workshop drawings.
Review and ensure the accuracy, development, and presentation of drawings.
Ensure compliance with the latest specifications and drawing standards.
Serve as the first point of contact for design questions and issues in the field.
Organize design coordination meetings with suppliers and subcontractors and issue follow-up notes.
Coordinate with vendors and assist project consultants in material selection and detailed drawing development.
Liaise with the procurement department during subcontract finalization to address technical queries from the supply chain.
Work with the project commercial department to finalize the scope and resolve gaps between trade contractors.
Ensure all design information is up-to-date and coordinate with all trades on model deliverables for timely project delivery.
Prepare project closeout documents according to specifications and coordinate with the project consultant for approval.
Efficiency
Continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency in design coordination and information management.
Support the development and supervision of junior coordinators to ensure team efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities
Workload Management
Planned and organized workload to align with project priorities, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
Create and manage lists of open decision items, setting timetables to ensure decisions are made without delaying the project schedule.
Establish and lead design coordination meetings with suppliers and subcontractors and issue follow-up notes.
Demonstrate the ability to work independently while escalating issues to senior design staff when necessary.
Resolve issues and coordinate information to meet required timescales and site activities, raising RFIs as needed.
Communication Skills
Exhibit strong written and oral communication skills.
Interact effectively with senior and junior staff, clients, and site teams to provide appropriate feedback through meetings and advanced information.
Communicated with vendors and assisted project consultants in material selection and detailed drawing development.
Manage workload efficiently, including delegating tasks to subordinate staff.
Technical Knowledge
Possess extensive knowledge and experience with various computer applications, including AutoCAD, MS Office, and Photoshop.
Demonstrate the ability to visualize in 3D.
Understand and read consultant and subcontractor drawings.
Raise RFIs and highlight areas uncoordinated by consultants or subcontractors.
Understand different disciplines within the construction team and address coordination problems accordingly.
Develop proficiency in electronic document management systems.
Comprehend the requirements of a collaboration system and its benefits to the design department.

Qualifications
Educational Background: Degree in Civil Engineering.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of UAE experience in a similar role.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Technical Proficiency: Ability to raise queries and RFIs regularly.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with design management teams.
