Day-to-Day Operations
- Supervise and monitor the daily operation of all machinery on tugs to ensure efficient performance.
- Report any faults or operational issues to the Foreman Tug Fleet/in Charge to prevent resource wastage and control costs.
- Conduct regular major and minor maintenance and repair activities on tugs to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Develop and manage an engine spare parts and machinery inventory, preparing and submitting material requests to the Foreman Tug Fleet/In-Charge as needed.
- Perform routine PMS tasks, including filter cleaning/changing, engine oil replacement, and addressing water or oil leaks. Ensure general cleanliness of machinery spaces and compliance with DDW-D standards.
- Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, foremen, supervisors, and management to foster a collaborative environment.
- Participate in departmental training programs as required.
- Inspect materials to ensure they meet quality standards and report any damages before use.
- Work within assigned timelines to achieve department goals and maintain operational efficiency.
- Uphold cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
- Execute job-related tasks consistently to ensure operational continuity.
Education, Skills, and Qualifications: - Education: Minimum 12th grade with Science. A degree is preferred.
- Certification: STCW.3 (Engine) Restricted.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a Tug Engineer in the port industry.
- Additional Qualifications: Marine Diploma (optional).
- Strong knowledge of dual-fuel diesel engines and their operations.
- Excellent technical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
